Fjord Show in Moses Lake

For our last adventure of the summer in the bbow we went to Moses Lake to watch Fox Bay participate in the Northwest Fjord Show. We left Thursday late afternoon.
First stop dinner at our favorite diner in Ellensburge.

We stayed at a really nice resort with multiple pools, hot tub and even two water slides.
The flower-shaped pool is actually the hot tub and it is amazing.

Our Very First Likkel Reunion

This was a special week for me as many members of the Fred Likkel family came to Lynden for our first ever family reunion. Ivan & Kay invited everyone to the Northwood pavilion - in their backyard - for a Thursday nite welcome wiener roast.
I missed the "pizza in the park" Friday nite gathering. On Saturday everyone spent the day at Ryan and Traci's visiting, playing games and enjoying a catered dinner.
I walked from table to table attempting to speak with everyone I could. It was so fun as our families - even the local ones - have grown and changed so much.

Missy brot this tree and assembled a visual representation of each family.
Melissa drew an amazing family tree.
Since the most family attended this meal an attempt was made to take family pictures. This is our Calvin Likkel picture. Unfortunately many were not able to be in it with us.
This picture is of all the Likkel first cousins with only a few missing.
On Sunday we were again at the Northwood pavilion for family worship. So special.
This is the Fred Likkel Bible that quite honestly I didn't even know existed.
Uncle Stan wanted his grandkids to see his story "How David Killed Goliath" that he wrote as a memory for Uncle David. They loved the story!
More food and fellowship.

Finally... A Horse at the Fair!

For years it has been Taryn's dream to have her horse at the fair. Well, this was the year and she was so excited. It did add a whole other busyness dimension to our fair week - as if Poffertjes weren't enough!

Bert settled nicely in his stall and Taryn had to be there morning and night to exercise him, and do a four hour daily stint of barn duty. She loved every moment of it.
Every once in a while the girls would come visit me at the Poffertjes booth. This was her show day so Taryn was dressed in pink for Western showing.

Bert looked pretty good in pink too!
Mackenzie was able to come and help Taryn since I was not able to help her at all. She was an amazing help and the girls had a ton of fun together!
One Caption - Dream Come True!
Gary got his first ride on Bert one evening when Taryn was exercising him in the outdoor arena. So funny!

Poffertjes at the Fair!

It was a huge, wonderful Poffertjes week for us at the Northwest Washington Fair. The weather was perfect and we made lots of Poffertjes!
This is an incredible picture of Poffertjes on the grill.
A perfect plate - ready to eat!

Scott For Mayor

Gary hosted a sign assembly party in our shop for our mayoral candidate Scott Korthuis.
In no time they had 200 signs assembled...

and loaded in the truck...
for delivery to locations all over Lynden. [Thanks Kenners!]
